Cost is often a stumbling block for people who want to get some support but can’t quite seem to justify the expense. Many of my clients waited until they felt desperate before going to their GP and were then placed on a waiting list for short term counselling or offered anti-depressants. While there is nothing wrong with either of these options, if you want help NOW the reality is that you might have to pay for it. We think less about spending a few quid on a night out or a special treat to cheer ourselves up, but when it comes to investing in our future selves i.e. getting a few regular counselling or therapy sessions, it all seems ‘a bit expensive’.


So how much did you spend last year in the pursuit of happiness? Did it work? How much does your hair salon or gym charge? Your body and your mind are one – they need equal attention. Is therapy or counselling value for money? You won’t know unless you give it a try.
